20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

closeup shot of the right armrest of the sofa. Notice the
crack. I suspect that this sofa was used in several films
after 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which would explain the distressed
nature of the prop. Given it's overall small role in the
Salon and it's lack of specialized design (i.e., it was not a Goffic*
piece that was specifically for the Nautilus), it must have been an
ideal candidate for period pieces throughout the late 60's, 70's,
and 80's. I am currently attempting to research the history
of this and some of the other "generic items" used in 20,000
Leagues Under the Sea.
